About us

Vrsar is a picturesque historic town situated on terraces above a small harbour on the western coast of Istria. It has about 1,800 inhabitants and lies about 10 km south of Poreč. The picturesque historic centre makes it one of the most beautiful resorts in Istria. It is a popular tourist destination mainly due to its convenient location on the Adriatic coast and the favourable Mediterranean climate. The beaches are landscaped (pebble beaches) with sunbathing areas and gradual entry into the sea (suitable for small children). There are 18 small, uninhabited islands off the coast of Vrsar.

Nearby resorts are worth visiting, such as the resort of Porec (approx. 10 km) or Novigrad (approx. 27.5 km), then Funtana (approx. 3.5 km), Rovinj (approx. 30 km) and the capital of Istria Pula (approx. 55 km). Approximately 27.5 km from Vrsar you will find the remains of the castle and medieval town of Dvigrad, and approximately 19 km you will find the karst cave Beredine.

In Vrsar you can enjoy a number of restaurants, including traditional taverns, which offer local specialties of fish, seafood (including oysters), venison, asparagus or truffles, as well as delicious homemade pasta or soups. Locally produced wines are available to accompany the good food.
